IPL 24: RCB Beat DC by 47 Runs to Stay in Race to the Playoffs

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru made it five wins on the trot as they beat Delhi Capitals by 47 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to keep their playoff hopes alive. DC’s Jake Fraser-McGurk was off to a flier as per usual but wickets kept tumbling as Swapnil Singh got rid of David Warner for cheap and Abhishek Porel was unable to find his form with the bat today as Yash Dayal got rid of him early on. The young Australian batting sensation was dismissed in an unlucky manner with a run-out off the bowler’s hand. Axar Patel looked to keep the side in the hunt with a valiant fifty but the lack of support from the other end and also with wickets falling regularly saw RCB take the win.

Axar Patel, captaining DC in place of Rishabh Pant, won the toss and opted to bowl first. DC are missing regular captain Pant after he was handed a one-match suspension for maintaining a slow over-rate for the third time this IPL season.
