The Delhi unit of the BJP on Tuesday staged a mega protest against jailed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over allegations of receiving political funding from the banned terrorist organisation ‘Sikhs for Justice’.
The protest was held in the capital city a day after Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena recommended an NIA probe against Kejriwal for allegedly receiving funds from an organisation banned in India due to its involvement in terror-related activities.
Scores of BJP workers gathered at DDU Marg near the AAP headquarters, demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister, who is currently lodged in Tihar jail for his alleged involvement in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy case.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, while hitting out at Kejriwal and AAP, said that no one is allowed to seek help and funds from those involved in anti-India activities.
“Arvind Kejriwal has jeopardised national security and integrity, and he should resign immediately. We urge the agency to conduct a thorough investigation as this matter is of grave concern,” Sachdeva said.
