Mercury Crosses 30 Degrees In The Capital

The city on Monday recorded the hottest day of the year with about three- degree rise in
the mercury. The maximum temperature was 31.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal,

against 28.4 degrees Celsius a day earlier. The minimum temperature too soared by about three degrees, with the city’s base station, Safdarjung, recording 13.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal, against 10 degrees Celsius a day earlier.

At 32.3 degrees Celsius, the ridge area turned out to be the warmest in the city, with the
minimum temperature recorded at 13.4 degrees Celsius a day earlier.

According to a weather scientist, the daytime will remain warm on Tuesday as well, but the temperature will drop slightly on Wednesday and Thursday under impact of a western
disturbance. The impact of the western disturbance will, however, become low and
daytime temperature will begin to rise again from Friday onwards.
