Indian passport holders can now travel to 62 countries visa-free

People with an Indian passport can travel to 62 countries visa free as the Henley Passport Index ranked India at 80th globally. While India’s rank hasn’t increased from last year, the number of destinations has shot up to 62 from 57.

The Henley Passport Index, renowned as the foremost interactive online tool for displaying, sorting, and ranking passports worldwide, derives its rankings from data supplied by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The index serves as a barometer for the global mobility landscape, reflecting the diplomatic reach and accessibility of passports across nations.

This year’s list crowns six nations with the most powerful passports. France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain share this status, allowing their citizens to travel to 194 countries without a visa.

Afghanistan languishes at the bottom, securing access to a mere 28 countries without a visa. Syria and Iraq follow suit, with a paltry 29 and 31 visa-free destinations, respectively. Pakistan rounds off the quartet with access to 34 countries only.
