Opp practising to remain in opposition in next LS, with lesser numbers, says PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday slammed the Opposition leaders, who have been protesting in Parliament seeking a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah over the recent Parliament security breach, and cautioned them that if they do not change their conduct “their numbers would further come down in the next Lok Sabha”.

Addressing the BJP parliamentary party meeting, the PM said that those who believe in democracy should strongly condemn the Parliament security breach incident. “The Prime Minister said that some parties, which are frustrated over the outcome of the recent Assembly elections in which they faced defeat, are speaking in a language that expresses support for the incident (security breach) and it is even more dangerous than the incident itself,” said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said after the meeting.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi had recently said that issues like “unemployment and price rise” were behind the security breach of Lok Sabha on December 13.
