BJP MCD councilorssat on a Dharna outside the MCD Headquarters Civic Center in protest against the unconstitutional functioning of MCD which is going on from 7 December 2022.

Virendra Sachdeva Delhi BJP chief said that due to the scams done by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, the image of Kejriwal and his party leaders has been broken in the people of Delhi and in the eyes of the people of Delhi, today see it as the Thug Party of Delhi and not as the Aam Aadmi Party.

He said that BJP served the public through the Delhi Municipal Corporation for 15 years and ran the corporation as per the Constitution, but the Aam Aadmi Party, working with political bias has not allowed formation of the Constitutional Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation, zonal committees along with other committees. Anarchy has spread in the Municipal Corporation due to lack of constitutional committees.

Sachdeva said that Aam Aadmi Party leaders are repeatedly making false propaganda that BJP has done nothing in its 15 years. Despite lack of financial resources, BJP installed compactors, maintained cleanliness system, confirmed 12591 sanitation workers, built community halls, constructed buildings of Pratibha Vidyalaya along with hundreds of schools, developed parks with gyms, the list is unending.

Reminding Kejriwal of his statement, he said that he had promised to remove all the mountains of garbage in Delhi by January 1, 2024, but today a new garbage mountain has started being built in Ghazipur.

Leader of Opposition in MCD Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh said that it had never happened before in the history of Delhi Municipal Corporation that the corporation councilors had to sit on Dharna at the gate of the corporation wearing black clothes. Councilors come to the MCD to solve the problems of the public but ever since the Aam Aadmi Party has come into the corporation, they are trying to run the corporation arbitrarily.
