This information was given by Union Minister Anurag Thakur in the cabinet press conference on Wednesday. He said that it has been decided to extend the free grain scheme for five years. About 81 crore people will get benefits. At the same time, about Rs 11.80 lakh crore will be spent in this work.

The Union Cabinet has approved a central scheme to provide drones to 15,000 women self-help groups (SHGs) for two years. The outlay of the project will be Rs 1,261 crore. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur told reporters on Wednesday that the decision in this regard was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

Thakur said, “The objective of the scheme is to provide drones to 15,000 selected women SHGs to provide rental services to farmers for agricultural purposes during 2024-25 to 2025-2026.” According to the official release of the scheme.
