Lieutenant governor VK Saxena on Tuesday flagged off the Viksit Bharat Sankalp
Yatra in the presence of MPs and senior government officials in northeast Delhi.
The yatra, started about five months before the general elections, aims to educate
people about schemes launched by the central government and how they can benefit
from them.
During the Delhi campaign, which will cover over 600 locations in 11 districts,
information, education and communication vans will travel to rural and urban areas to
promote schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman
Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Svanidhi Yojana and the Garib Kalyan Yojana, among others.
“The Centre has launched many welfare schemes to reach out to the general public as
well as marginalised communities under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. To
disseminate information and create awareness about these initiatives and make them
beneficiaries too, the PM launched the yatra on November 15 in Jharkhand. Now, we
will promote these initiatives in Delhi, hold direct dialogue with people and help them
get the benefits,” the LG told the crowd at Khajoori Khas.
