Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva claimed that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government committed Rs 500 crores scam by awarding upgradation/ augmentation works to single bidders in Delhi Jal Board even while the contractors had not submitted the detailed project reports (DPRs) as mandated in the government tendering process.
Sachdeva has sent detailed notes with facts to the CBI, Enforcement Directorate, as well as Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena for urgent investigation in the DJB scam. Sachdeva has also called for the cancellation of the awards to the contractors and constitution of enquiry against officials and the concerned minister who had shown undue haste in awarding the projects.
Delhi BJP chief informed the CBI, ED, and the Delhi LG that the cost of the works for the augmentation are much higher. He also pointed that even while some of the bidders had offered to provide DPRs, the Delhi government showed extreme hurriedness to award the works without due diligence and cost analysis in a clear case of a premeditated decision to favour the awardees of the works.
Surprisingly,Sachdeva claimed that while the concerned minister was not competent to approve the decision, the Delhi government went ahead with the award of the works.Sachdeva also revealed that the due diligence with the Taiwanese embassy was also not obtained in awarding the works even while the competence of the said contactor was well known.
