Delhi News AQI Live Updates (November 27: Several parts of the city woke up to a thick layer of smog as Delhi’s air quality again dipped closer to the ‘severe’ category today, as per monitoring agencies. As of 9 am this morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 400. While very light rainfall is on the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast for today and tomorrow (Tuesday), the air quality early warning system indicates that the AQI is set to remain in the ‘very poor’ category at least till Wednesday.
A real-time source apportionment study underway for the city has found the transport sector to be the biggest contributor to Delhi’s bad-air November. Data also shows vehicles, biomass burning even when farm fires are few, and secondary aerosols or particles that are formed in the atmosphere from gases released by fossil fuel combustion as major factors.
On the party’s foundation day yesterday, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal wished party workers and remembered party leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, who he said are in jail in “false cases.” Addressing a press conference virtually, Kejriwal said that the AAP has been the fastest-growing party and also the most targeted of the last 11 years. “We have been targeted the most in these 11 years. All investigative agencies, ED, CBI and Delhi Police, have been unleashed on us. More than 250 cases have been filed against us but not a single penny of ill-gotten wealth has been found,” he said.
