: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s popularity ahead of the 2025 polls has
plummeted! Latest opinion polls suggest that Trudeau’s popularity has reduced with 40
percent of Canadians leaning towards his rival – Pierre Poliviere as the preferred choice for
PM.
As per an Ipsos poll conducted by Global News, a Canadian news platform, Pierre Poliviere,
the leader of the Conservative party, has emerged as the preferred choice for prime
minister amongst 40 percent of Canadians. Liberal party’s Justin Trudeau trailed behind
with only 31 percent of support.
Compared to the previous polls, Pierre Poliviere’s popularity amongst Canadians has been
steadily increasing. As compared to last year, there is a five-point increase in the
Conservative party leader’s popularity.
Along with Trudeau, Jagmeet Singh from the New Democratic Party, who is part of
Trudeau’s coalition government, has also seen a decline in support. Only 22 percent of
Canadians think that the Khalistan sympathiser is the best choice for PM.
This opinion poll on Canadian- elections comes during Trudeau’s standoff with the Indian
government. Trudeau has accused the Indian government of killing Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a
Canadian Sikh citizen, who had been designated as a terrorist by India.
