The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing to announce the names of around 300 crucial office bearers, its connection to Delhi’s political grassroots, as part of the final phase of its state unit overhaul amid preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

According to party sources, 14 district presidents and 272 mandal or block presidents are in the process of being appointed, whose names are expected to be announced over the coming days. They will be tasked not only with expanding the party’s support base on the ground but also implementing its poll strategy in the city for the Lok Sabha as well as the Delhi Assembly elections.

These office bearers are the party’s connection to the ground right down to the polling booth level and are the hands that carry out its outreach (activities) to the average citizen. They will be chosen based on ground feedback as part of a party program me dubbed raishumari or consultation,” a senior party leader said.
